Me? 1998. I didn't have a bike for 3 months. I almost lost the will to live.
For me, it's like a physical need. If I don't have a bike to ride, I get sick.

Re: Bikeless!
Couple of days between swap overs.
Usually it bothers me as it's summer when i swap so i miss out on a ride potentially.
However i've been without a bike since Nov currently
so it's irrelevent.

I'm not sure that you were my core audience for this one.

Re: Bikeless!
Now, currently. it's been nearly three years since I sold my last one. I've moved house again since then, and still putting money aside to pay for another [bike]. I have less free time now so don't miss it as much as I might, but I still want another - for a bit of commuting and riding the long way home, then an occasional trip out.
Been looking at Kawasaki's website, particularly interested in the Versys.

Re: Bikeless!
nowdays, I only ride through the summer, so I'm off road for 6 months a year or so, however, I have always had a project on the go even if I haven't been on the road. I've had a couple of years when I couldn't afford to run a bike, but still tinkered and worked on other peoples.
Might not put the Zed back on the road this summer yet, didn't especially enjoy riding last year, might be time for something different.

Re: Bikeless!
I have an ER6-F. I can thoroughly recommend them. Budget bikes of course, but still capable and quite good fun.

Having a bike is essential to me. If I can;t ride it, at least I can look at it and work on it.
Something different? Like an outfit perchance?

Corking bike. That twin motor is a peach. I seriously enjoy riding the ER6 and the Versys.

Re: Bikeless!
My second bike was (technically) an outfit, but I couldn't park one anywhere now. I do fancy building a tilting one again at some point tho.
I'm planning on rebuilding my late brother in laws 500 triumph twin hardtail chop which will take me a while and likely use up my spare cash for the year, hopefully it will be on the road next year.
