Best place is probably a goldwing owners forum.it's legal but there is a weight issue.

I think there's another one about trailer length. I looked into it when I wanted to adapt a GS550 to tow a Montesa 315R.

Yeh,
Found this :-
Quote:
* The towing motorcycle must exceed 125 cc engine capacity.
* The trailer has an overall width not exceeding 1.00m
* The distance between the rear axle of the motorcycle and the rearmost part of the trailer must not exceed 2.5m.
* The Motorcycle must be clearly and indelibly marked with it’s kerbside weight.
* The Maximum towed weight, including the trailer and it’s load must not exceed 150 Kg (330 lb) or two thirds of the motorcycles kerbside weight, whichever is the least.
* The UK speed limit is 60 mph on Motorways and dual carriageways and 50 mph on all other roads unless a lesser limit is in force.

Make sure your trailer is sound and no bits of suspension are going to snap off - GHIKT

Try not to overload it - a heavy trailer WILL start to drive the bike round corners.

How much power have you got? What bike are you attaching it to?

Watch where you park - reversing trailers can be a pain, even with a reverse gear. Unless you have a couple of French bike cops to help you out when you get completely stuck...

Given there are no actual road Polis in this country and the forigeners don't give a fuck, I wouldn't worry about most of the above

I towed a car trailer with a bike trailer strapped on to it down to Dordogne and back, round the M25, up the M1; nobody stopped us, nobody weighed us, I'm fairly sure the Wing isn't marked with it's "kerbside weight" and nor is my mate's BlackBird.

All hypothetical at this moment in time, but if the feedback looked favourable I'd have a further look at what options were available.

The bike? No. Me? Yeah, it's a nightmare going past Government weighbridges - they keep trying to do me for being an HGV.
