If i had one i couldn't anyway my car park and the junction at the end of the road is compacted snow that melted in the sun and turned into a thick layer of sheet ice , and as it's not main road it's not been gritted

Same here (except for not having one).

It's tricky enough for the car.

Not a chance. Not rode mine since it got dark at night ( well before 5pm!!). I'm just so delighted that I don't have to this year

Not since Thursday.

Friday I mountain biked to work which was something of a hoot in 6" of fresh snow at 6am. But no way I'd take a motorbike out in it.

Even now, though the main roads round here all all probably rideable, there's just too much ice between my garage and the clear bits.

No snow in Bristol, only a bit of ice but I tend not to ride much Friday, Saturday or Sunday lately anyway.

Must admit i stuck the ccm in the van and went for a play in the country the other day. was good fun lots of wheel spinning and sliding but drove to work today dont mind riding for a play but dont trust other drivers in this weather to risk the commute.

just walked into town to get some bread milk etc and it's lethal all the roads have got black ice on them and the paths are totally covered in ice and there are still people driving in these conditions!!! , just watched at least three cars coming up to junctions and locking up thier wheels as they brake and then lose grip as they pull away , and one guy in a camper van the look of shock on his face as he approached a turning too fast and locked up as he braked

It actually rained here last night, and it's all turned to black ice as well as washing away the salt. I've not actually seen or heard a gritter round here yet.

Gritters havent got round here at all. All the side roads are lethal and footpaths have an inch of ice on them. I really want to go to work on the bike as it saves me at least 40 minutes each way but there is no way it will stay upright in these conditions. Means the car tomorrow which I hate using but I suppose it is better than death or injury even if the bike is Hi-vis .

I need to do that too. Actually, I need a bigger shop than that and in the absense of using car or bike I shall proudly be bringing my granny trolley that we use for delivering the local papers.

Just hope no-one sees me.

what amazes me is that people still rock up to junctions in these conditions as they would if it was dry and still expect the car to stop in the same distance
