Default I appear to have bought a new toy

It's a 99 plate VFR800, one owner, less than 17,000 miles. It's not run for 5 years or so and will need work done to get it working and MoT'd, but it was a proper bargain!

Certainly not a winter shonker (I've got a 94 plate CB500 for that!), but it's been off the road for 5 years cos my mate was too busy to ride it, so it needs a new battery, and a service. It'll start no probs once that's been done.

It was £1500 which for a bike of this quality (my mate has had it from new), is pretty cheap I think.

Yeah, I've just had a look at your thread. Good luck with your new project...I wouldn't even know where to start on that!

now that you mention it, I do recall the first few pages of that thread, but never followed it through, hope it worked out OK for you.
Thing is that I don't really consider it an old bike, having been brought up on Nortons and the like, official "old git" here.

The seller was riding up till the auction ended, all in good nick and road legal.
Too small for me though. I got it for a mate without an ebay account who was 50/50 committed to the idea, the theory being that if he didn't like it then I'd give it to me gurlie for a crimble prezzie. She took one look and said " huh, a plastic bike" or words to that effect, she don't like sports bikes. Now it seems that neither does me mate.
