    Question Shark Evoline

My son is thinking of buying one of these..

..which to me also looks good enough to replace my Schuberth C2 next year.

Never tried a Shark helmet and don't know anybody locally who has, so if anybody can give us any personal experiences I'd be grateful.

I haven't got one either. But a mate of mine has one and he reckons it's the best bit of kit he owns. He had initial quality problems as he bought it when it was a brand new model, but shark sorted him out with a new one ( later model which seemed better quality) and he's chuffed.

I have one in matt black, it's useful for town riding as you get better vision with open face helmets. The idea is a good one to me hence I bought it, I also have an Arai open face, a Shoei Multitech and a Roof Boxter (latest version) as my open/flip selection. In practice it works however there are pitfalls, as well as benefits, the chin bar is better than the roof open or closed and because it sits close to the back of the helmet it means it's less of a drag and quieter.

BUT, it's actually noiser when you lock the chinbar in closed face position! Bizarre eh, it also lets rain in when the chinbar/visor is down. I still like the concept though and it is my regular ride into London helmet whereby on the A3 in winter the chinbar will be closed and once in town it'll be pushed back.

    I got mine here Evoline
