Smart looking and very American buildings- Done with admirable pride and very tidily put together, but extremely reliant on nailed connections for bracing the entire structure.

Definitely built for a drier climate- loads of untreated spruce and pine with very little roof overhang and no guttering (?) Over here they would be a bit messy in 15 to 20 years I fear.

Extend the roof a bit, get some Larch or Douglas on the case and you'd be laughing though

I really like Walter Segal | selfbuild-central.co.uk Segal method frames- deep timbers on light foundations with bolted connections. Very little chance of getting moisture trapped around your timbers and really sturdy frames with little machining and jointing needed.
