Default Google Sketchup

I may be really thick here

I downloaded sketchup, opened a template, drew a couple of shapes, closed but did not save.
Started up Stetch up again, went to open the same template, blank page, unable to draw, no template regardless of the type of template I try to open, the page is just blank white.

What am I doing wrong or do you only get one 'hit' at a drawing??

Un-install and re-install will solve the white page problem

File - Save will solve the other

Yep, an un-install was the first thing I did.
I will try to re-install again tonight and save a drawing.

The template comes up when I re-install but when I close the drawing without saving it just comes up with a white page again.

Is the best way to save a blank template and edit that every time you want to draw something?

Can you change the preferences instead of making up a blank template?

What is the template you are trying to save?

I have not saved any templates, I assumed the templates would always open??

I reinstall, open a template, draw a load of cack, close but don't save, go to open the same template, white page, open any of the other templates, blank page?

OK, now I'm really lost. Considering loading visio back on my laptop

-I performed what must have been the third of fourth re-install last night.
-Opened up the simple template (metric)
-Drew a box
-Saved it as a file name
-Closed Sketchup
-Opened the file and get a blank page again

This time however I looked at the print preview, It shows the box I drew
I'm obviously missing something really basic as the tool recognises that I have a drawing but all I get to see is a blank, white page.

I have just tried it with both a completely new drawing and using one of the provided templates and the templates I created were saved no problem. You are using the 'Save as template' option aren't you?

I don't mean any offence by that btw, it's just that sometimes the simplest things . . .
