FRING - anyone using it?
Hi, I'm trying to cut costs and unfortunately Skype wont work on my mobile unless i go via Wifi which isn't very mobile
I've been told I can download and use Fring - is it any good? I understand that I'll need my friends / colleagues to download it too to be able to make calls but just looking for some first hand experience if anyone has any?
Thanks in advance...

Skype won't work over 3g?? why not?
Is your operator (Orange/02, whoever) blocking it?? I thought skype worked fine over 3g....

It will do but one of our users doesn't have the right platform for it hence looking at Fring

Re: FRING - anyone using it?
I used Fring on my N95 before someone stole it.
The text/data elements seemed to work well but the voice was patchy most of the time.
What platform is the non-conformist using?

Thanks KD - the non conformist has a "Android" phone rather than a microsoft based phone which will allow him only to skype via wifi
Not good news that it's not great connection, it seems to be eating up battery power on my phone too for some reason
