Don't forget that 'our' tanks in the Gulf War were decorated with hi-vis fluoro orange panels to try to avoid 'friendly fire' incidents.

Also, FWIW, deer can't 'see' orange, so hunters in the USA often wear camo-pattern with hi-viz orange in the pattern

Interestingly it's made from 'low noise' material, so quiet and loud at the same time

The hi viz for hunters is to stop your drunk mates from shooting you, apparently its as high a cause for gun shot injuries as malicious use in some parts of the states.

Thanks - forgot to explain that! Apparently the hunting philosophy over there is "If it moves, shoot it".

Forestry Ranger friend " If a German says he can take a beast at 200 metres you can safely double it.................If a Yank says he can take a beast at 200 metres halve it...and don't let him carry the gunslip or he'll be too knackered to come to the aim!"

Cranky old shuffler who rides unfashionable bikes slowly whilst reciting Roadcraft.
