Since I haven't hit the necessary post count to use the "thanks" system I'll just have to say Thanks to tfdodo for that explanation about the rear brake.

And the point about pushing your weight back is well made, too: I'd do that automatically if I was stopping hard on the bicycle to keep the rear wheel down.

The only issue with sitting to the rear when braking hard is that it tends to make you lock your arms out to support your weight, when it's better to keep knees hard in on the tank and your back braced.

Hmm, that it would, especially since I can't easily slide around on the seat of the WR since the cover material is very grippy.

speaking as someone who has owned a few WR's over the years and stoppied bikes for fun (and cocked it so I went over ) you wont dial it out with the damping adjustments....
the main problem is two fold...
first (as other have said) is the amount of fork travel you have...
quite simply the front dives so far under braking it's hard NOT to stoppie it
2nd is the all up lack of weight at the back of the bike..it's a lighweight Ednuro bike and as such is meant to be manouverable..
you can lessen the effect by...
(as suggested) making the comp damping firmer, but don't go too far or it'll be crap the rest of the time..
you could lower it Supermoto style and drop the rear...most SM race bikes do this to enable them to brake harder/later and you are changing the CofG, this is only an option if you don't off road it tho..I did Off road My lowered WR450 with no trouble !
you could also try fitting harder fork springs to prevent the dive....
or.learn to do it with style, pivoting 180deg before you land then riding off in the opposite direction is quite cool....
word of warnig tho....if you do flip it....it hurts...LOTS !

Too much is NEVER enough...till it hurts...
