Thumbs up FLASH tour 03-06 July 2009

Post updated 27/09/08 - This post will be constantly updated re availability etc.

I've been forced against my own free will by Orangebox to arrange another FLASH tour for next year.

The dates are as per the thread title - 03-06 July 2009. All details with regards to this event can be found here: FLASH Motorcycle Tours - that includes price and deposit etc.

Can we have all your deposits paid to FLASH by the end of the year if that's not too much trouble. If it is, please drop me a PM.

Ferry arrangements are to be made by yourselves. Post them up here and if anyone wants to join you they will - is the usual procedure.

Those who are signed up:
m00c0w (maybe +1 - TBC)
Orangebox
The Girlie Biker
Muzzychuck
Sunny
KillaHedgehog
Mac
sean600rr
Tripleclown
Bladerideressex
big_daddy

Possibles:
Whysub
El Gordo

If anyone else is interested in this, please post on the thread and I'll add you to the list. It's limited to the tune of 13 people - 14 at a real push. It may look full now, but it's not full until deposits are in.

It's going to be yet another good one!

I can't speak for Paul but I fancy doing Dover/Calais again taking a full day to get to Flash and the same for the route back.

I'd rather do the extra miles on the bike than on a ferry

The Gif of the girl with the BIG boobs has had to go or I'd not be having sex with the Mrs for quite a while

Does anyone fancy extending the trip and blatting around the Alps or Northern Spain after FLASH and returning on the 11th or 12th July?

Fair enough. I can leave after work to get the night ferry from Portsmouth>Caen and thus use one less day's holiday, which is attractive.

We may take you up on this kind offer (please!), I can't get my brain into gear about timings with this being so far in the future though

OK, here's how I recommend doing it:

Thursday 2nd July - Work half day/full day. Ride down to Portsmouth for 10.30pm and get ferry overnight to Caen

Friday 3rd July - Arrive at Caen 8am and ride down to Flash's (6hrs or so)

Sat 4th July - Flash Tour Day 1

Sun 5th July - Flash Tour Day 2

Mon 6th July - Flash Tour Day 3

Tues 7th July - 7am leave Flash to ride to Caen for afternoon ferry. Arrive Portsmouth 10pm. Ride to London for 11pm. Sleep.

Weds 8th July - Lie in, ride home.

Thurs 9th July - Work

So it's 4 days off work if you work the Thursday and hoof down to Portsmouth. Although, that said, you're welcome to come down earlier and spend the day in london on the 2nd so we can ride in a group down to the ferry after my work.

Oxford tailpack and a decent-sized magnetic tank bag mate. I've used this arrangement on ZX6R and Fireblade and it works a treat. Ive got panniers too but am loath to use them as I witnessed a spectacular fire once when someones was touching the end can and combusted nicely

Nope. If you're yorkshire, you MAY want to team up with KHH and MAC, who are also up that way, and appear to be doing the Calais ferry instead.
That said, you're more than welcome to join the same as us and pootle down.
