    AHHH you found my thread

Better off with mepal(deep sand)although i have not ridden it or washbrooke(several inches) which i have ridden, both in cambridge area, not sure you would class the jumps as big(i would say medium) before you get ultra sensitive*its a genuine comment -but size is relative.

Those are my local tracks hence not local for Icarus. Mepal is an old sand quarry and is VERY DEEP sand, last I saw it didn't have much in the way of jumps though. Washbrook Farm is quite sandy and again no mega jumps. Mildenhall and Chippenham though are sandy WITH big fuck-off jumps that scare the poop out of me.

The track on the vid is Foxhills near Swindon, quite hard pack until it rains then mega slippery snot. Ex GP track with awesome slopes.

Mel...I did a search for 'Trials' and this thread came up. Pure coincidence that you are on it.

I used to practise most weekends at Preston, very, very deep sand and some decent jumps. At one point they had a little freestyle section and I really got into jumping.
MX tracks with no big jumps are not for me really.

So which do you recommend TC, deep sand and huge jumps are what I'm looking for.
Also a kids track because we'll all be coming down.

I can't find any decent pictures but these were taken about 10yrs ago.
In fact I still have those yellow sinisalo pants, I'll probably wear them for the enduro as they go over your boots and keep everything nice and clean.

I'd say Chippenham. It has a beginners oval and very good easy starter track which is only for under 100cc, and the main track is a sandy one with some great jumps and tabletops.

Welcome To | WildTracks Offroad Activity Park Chippenham

Near Thetford just off the A11. Phone first as they do hold meetings some weekends. You can ask them if you can camp on site the night before.

Alternatively Mildenhall which is nearby a bit further up the A11 but their kids track isn't much cop.

Here's our kid at Mildenhall a couple of years ago - you can see how sandy it is, Chippenham is similar.

Buy TMX news (a MCN type paper for off road), it's out every friday and will have lists of all the meetings and ads for practice tracks around the country.

Iccy if you come down to Chippenham or Mildenhall and I'm not doing anything I'd probably come over and see how you're getting on, as you're one of the more interesting people on here.

I think I'll give the chippenham place a try, it looks good.

The bike I bought is pretty focussed, not much use for enduros really so I'll be spending most of my time on MX tracks. Maybe the odd enduro for a bit of fun.

    Its a weekend away.
And I can combine it with visiting friends down that way.

I've also got a mate that lives in Brighton and we need a halfway point to meet up and have a blast.
