Hey what's up from San Diego!! I have been riding a 1988 Honda Hawk 650gt for the last 6 months and just purchased a 95 S3. I think I got a pretty good deal on it but I am sure that it will need some work after taking it into the shop. I puchased a manual to work on it but want to make sure everything is cool before I cruise down the interstate. It was sitting in a guy's garage for over a year and the gas has been drained and replaced but it still is sputtering a little bit. Really want to take it out and down the road about 90 for awhile to clear it out. The tach is out and there is oil on the bottom of the bike (oil pan with a cooling fan maybe?), but it is not dripping a drop on the ground. I will clean it off and take it out for a good one to see what's going on with that. Anyone with advise for the tach? The headlight low beam does not work (barely) but the high beam does...is this as easy as buying a bulb for $5 or so? If not, would it beat sacriledge to attempt to update the headlamp to the newer "bug-eye"? Anyway I love the way this bike sounds and feels when you bury it!! Good to be here with you all |

yeah ...it rained a couple of inches here last week and we had some flooding. In the middle of these rains I looked out of my office window and a homeless person's mattress floated by down the street toward the ocean. kindof sad but funny at the same time I have to go to the midwest for ten days and it will be well below freezing for most of the time...hopefully it snows. Isn't it in the middle of the night over there?? |

Welcome. I had a Speed Triple in 95/96 and absolutely loved it. Pics? Personally I'd leave the headlight as is. |

Hey man! ![]() Those early Speed Triples are lovely bikes. I'd leave it standard too but that's just my preference. |

Welcome to TRC ![]() One of my favourite bikes, here in the UK there were imported as Honda Bros. With the intention of keeping it for a year I got the 400 after passing my test. I kept it for nearly 4 years and replaced it with the 650. Only replace that after throwing it down the road |

Go fuck yourself San Diego! ![]() Welcome to by here. Leave it as it is with the single headlight. Most collectable of the early Hinckley bikes and they look spot on as they are. |
