I'd bet they'd try if it was nearer the end of the series and the points made the difference between winning and losing ![]() TBF, it sounds like they are having their chain pulled but they do sound rather petulant. |

I thinks there's short odds on a compromise being reached before the meeting. There's shitloads of sponsors investment that isn't going to get a return if the bikes are not on national TV. I predict another chapter very shortly |

They aren't going to pull out, even if they decide to 'sit this one out' . I suspect that they would run the round as a test but decide after Free practice whether they can get up to race pace with the added weight. They have been put in a difficult situation, if they do OK then everyone will say "Alot of fuss about nothing", if they do shite then they'll still have a load of work to do. Personally I think this alteration was bought in too early (as other front runners have been handing it to the Dukes) and the actually weight is steep to incorporate in one go, so I do sympathise. It does bring a smile to my face when thinking of Colin Wrights' TV appearence a couple of rounds ago stating the the Dukes were "The nearest thing to a showroom bike on the grid".....if thats true expect a lot of red logo'd bits of lead being extortionately priced at your local Duke dealer very soon | |

It was bound to happen as with all the IL4's being inconsistent the Ducati's results look better than they actually are. What is slightly wrong is the IL4 manufacturers calling for stronger conrods on safety grounds yet they were all dead against Ducati running different internals on safety grounds ![]() Also surprising to see Suzuki saying they won't detune their engine to make it more reliable and will run it in the state they know to be at the limit, I'm sure their riders are chuffed with that. There has to be some sort of ruling that lets different engine configurations race together and there will always be teething troubles implementing them, if we didn't have these rules we would end up with a grid of identikit bikes and that isn't what I want. The last few years have favoured the IL4's and the years before that the twins so I guess it's never really worked as a level playing field and this years rules do need slight tweaking again altho not as much as the 10kg as without crashes and bike failures the IL4's would be right there with the twins. Another point is the IL4's are nearly always quickest thro the speed traps so why don't they retune their engines for more drive out the corners to help match the twins ? |

from the BSB Site. Told ya!! GSE Racing confirm Donington Park involvement Following a week of negotiations with MCRCB and MSVR, GSE Racing Team Principal Darrell Healey has confirmed that Airwaves Ducati will race at Donington Park this weekend. Healey said: "It has been a very busy week for GSE Racing off the track! I am delighted to confirm that as a result of the amendments to the MCRCB Bulletin 2008/6 addressing the teams safety concerns, Airwaves Ducati will be in a position to compete this Bank Holiday weekend in Round 4 of the British Superbike Championship. Donington Park has to be one of GSE Racing's favourite circuits; not only is it an exciting track for the Airwaves Ducati but we have achieved fantastic results there in previous seasons and we look forward to continuing that this weekend." Both Airwaves Ducati riders are looking forward to getting back on their Ducati 1098R's at the 2.5-mile Derbyshire circuit following their three podium place finishes at Brands Hatch two weeks ago. Their early season form has resulted in a 44 point lead in the championship for Shane Byrne with team mate Leon Camier in third place on 83 points. |
