Yeah, you can jump it if you catch it right. CC got some air under the back wheel and I've got some pics of me on my old 600SS with both wheels up. It's fun however it happens |

Nice pics - must've been good to ride such different bikes back to back. Was one hands-down better than the other on the day? more fun? more suited to the track etc? |

Top pics ![]() Could be wrong but looks like the photographer is taking those a tad too late so the wheelies and any possible jumps are on their way down after the crest. Gutted that I didn't get any pics of me over the mountain last year. Must go back..... |

The Superduke on the other hand is a big beast! It's far too big for me to get round easily and I find it's shape difficult. There's a long right hander there called Chris Curve, which goes into a sort of chicane called the Gooseneck. You have to scrub some speed on Chris Curve, then go right again into the Gooseneck, before throwing it left down a hill. There doesn't seem to be anything to brace yourself against to brake while you're hanging off like that, so I was having to clamber back on, clamp round the narrow tank with my legs, then hang off again, which was very awkward and upsetting the bike a bit. I'm sure it's just a case of getting used to it and working out how to ride it, but I do struggle with it. Apart from that, it's got a beautiful engine, super sharp brakes and it handles as well as anything else I've ridden round there

![]() Oh well... ![]() How fast you gotta hit it to take off ? Used to try launch the Gixxer by standing up and bouncing it a bit before hump back bridge kinda things but don't think I ever took off...

When we watched some club racing there recently, very few people were getting more than a couple of inches of air jumping the Mountain. If you want to do it BSB stylee, you've got to take the two corners before it at a hell of a pace and not one that most normal trackdayers can manage I can get more air off a couple of jumps round here on the road, but that doesn't prove much really. To even get a decent wheelie at the Mountain you've got to be fairly commited.

Dude, do it anyway. Its the dogs danglies of a track!! Nothing much to add to what Grib has said. I think its Bike magazine this month that have got an article about it with Karl Harris describing how to attack it. The awesome massive air shots of the BSB guys are mainly taken after practice sessions/qualifying/races have finished. Top line from Karl Harris "We wait for the chequered flag and then have it big" ![]() Why stand and bounce?? Just hit it fast enough and you'll take off. Not difficult.

They seem to take off roughly half way up and land well over the crest on the back wheel, and carry on wheelieing for a bit! It's so spectacular. I sat at the bottom of the Mountain most of the day in complete awe

I will double check it later as I only skim read the article but I think Harris said that in order to launch it with big air they're on full throttle from just after the apex of the left hand bend at the bottom of the mountain..... |

I am such a girl.. I don't actually like the front wheel coming up over the mountain and with on 62bhp if I lean forward and go left I can nearly avoid it |
