working in a bike clothing shop this is what pisses me off all of the clothing range seems and (especially leathers) are made for people who have no bust or no bum this annoys me and many a time i have said to customers to try other shops that i know sell more of a variety of ladies bike clothing,
i keep saying this to head office but like everything else what we stock as standard is it unless we place a special order (alpine star) which has to be paid for in advance then there is no chance of us getting it.
i also think there is nothing worse than saying to a lady who comes in that she would be better trying the mens sizes on (this really pisses me off) and i know it pisses alot of the female customers. also there is never much choice, and pink or baby blue you must be joking, do they thing every female likes them colours.

what brands do you stock then ?

as alpinestars,Dainese and spidi all do a good fitting ladies range i think where some probs arise is where the lady is on the big size and moans thats nothing fits off the peg.
made to measure is the only way for them to go.

hein gericke, alpinestar (only certain ones),
certain stores will be stocking dainese but we wont.
i tend to shop elsewhere just because other shops have a better selection (shouldn't say that)

Taking delivery of my second half of my M2M Wolf suit on Weds... The leather tailor, Phil is excellent and I got a really great price at the Excel. Normally £550 for a 2 piece M2M Wolf Nimbus suit, I paid £400 show price. Had to pop up to Southend to see Phil for getting the tweaks right for me from the off the peg stuff, but apart from that it should be OK. I love the jacket as I already have that. My other half has had 2 suits from them already.

Exactly basic, being the operative word. I have shopped there in the past as there is a store located close to Malphyland on a good ride out route and they are not adverse to a little bit of haggling and often have a sale on. However, I have moreoften came out emptyhanded than ladenfull.

They don't have a rocking horse thingy which sounds a bit kinky so will be having words to put in a request

Womens kit is a niche market in a niche market I guess, but if we keep this thread going, at least we can give each other some ideas.
Will be going to the Scottish Bike show next weekend so will report back if there are any bardigains et al.

not very well known but very nice stuff all the same.

the reason i am saying this is because we got offered the rest of the m-tech range by phoenix distribution so they may well sort you out a nice deal on some clothing.

we also get all the richa range.

also have you looked at wolf leathers as the make ladies stuff down in southend for the bigger ladies,as we sent a customer to them.
to be honest, I gave up after trying all the local places. But I will try to find somewhere that stocks these and see if they carry the bigger sizes.

Part of the problem is the attitude of bike places. Some (expecially round here) don't seem to want to sell much, and they seem to have an aversion to helping girls find stuff that fits. Unless I'm jsut really scary and thats why they all run away!!!!

If its got balls or wheels its gonna be trouble!

Tongue in cheek, but not a silly device for women bikers with all that clobber to get off when nature calls...

This is all really useful stuff thanks! I went to George Whites in Swindon to buy some leather trousers and was directed to just a single rack that was tucked away for the girlies

My missus would strongly recommend her Daytona LadyStar GTX boots.

They're well made, properly waterproof and warm - and well designed for ladies. There's plenty of adjustment in the calf, and there's an inbuilt (unnoticeable) lift in the sole, adding about an inch of height. They're not the cheapest, but they are good value.

Token bauble:

Bah humbug.

They came out good in the end, although not tried them on the bike as yet. Stitching and make seems quality, as feels the armour. Jacket came with a Knox internal back protector (removable) too.
