In the name of science can you pop them onto the rims using the 'Icelandic monster truck 4x4 hairpsray 'n' match' method.

Thanks

I usually (but not always) use a "ride in, ride out" service at my local tyre place. I think they charge maybe £15-20 for fitting and re-fitting the wheels. Which is pretty reasonable, TBH.

I rather think that if I turned up with tools and asked to borrow a paddock stand, they'd regard me as a bit if a cheapskate.

The place I used to use is a bike workshop, not a pure tyre fitting place.
If I do the job myself they fit the tyres straight away.
If I wait for them then I have to wait for them to get other jobs done first and free up a ramp.
It costs the same whether I do the wheels or they do.
It's a matter of convenience, not cost.

I had to take the wheels off my boss's Harley outside Charlie's in Bristol years ago. They had agreed to supply and fit the tyres to the rims but would not allow a foreign bike in the workshop!

I just used what bricks and bits of wood I could find in the back lane IIRR.

Now, to devise some form of stand so I can remove the wheels... There's no centre stand, and the mounting lugs for a centre stand are broken. I don't have a paddock stand for a single swinger...

Trolley jack and straps from rafters it is, then
Or you could borrow my abba stand. Got the kits for the ZX7R and Sean's SP1, we were able to use one of each kit to sort out Paul's lardy GSXR1100.
