Indeed, of the 4 KTM's all under a year old and 3 of them under 3 mths old and less than 2k miles all had a problem, rev counter not working, exhaust clamp snapped, oil light on and a fork seal gone.

They are pretty much where Ducati where in the late 90's but without a loyal customer base, only one ktm rider would buy another and none of the others on the trip would ever buy a KTM !

Still they did all make it which is a major result

there's where the problem lies see... they don't actually believe people are good enough to ride them to the design parameters

I certainly can't

That was a good read and some excellent piccies. Last time I was at the ring Sabine went round the outside of me on my first lap drifting the BMW.

I'd highy recommend doing Spa, such a big, fast track, it flows really nicely once you start to get a feel for it. I'd like to go back, with the bike in the van and some good tyres and have a proper go at it. I was way too nervous to try anything I wanted to with the thoughts of having to ride home on it afterwards going round my head. Some of the fast bits could be proper scary fast with some practice and getting braver round there

Oh, along with the general Ducati 'issues', it seems the Ventura luggage rack has snapped too! Not sure when, just noticed it as I was cleaning

To be fair, that's not really a "Ducati" issue, though, is it?

Do you have a sense what the problem is/was with the 848, Grib?

Thanks for writing that!

I did a similar trip the first week of September. Bren was on Top Gear last night on Dave! How's Daisy?

You were unlucky with the breakdowns, I think. Thank god I've got a Japanese bike.

I've just bought a Ventura system for my ZX10, roll on June so that I can use it.

Yes! It's an extender.
