Great post Grib!

Sampled the delights of Eifel earlier this year...must go back next year...especially for the road from the 'Ring down to Cochem

The road past Cohem to Bad Kastel Kues (sp?) that follows the Rhein is pretty similar ...apart from the lack of elevation change.

When I went the only bike to bin it....was also an MV

Big bike - small willy

Yep, safest bet! although they did all make it back in one piece, it was a bit stressful at times! oh and the 749R was perfect throughout.

I did send Weeksy a PM with some more interesting roads between The Ring and Spa and about an hours worth of the 3 hour journey to Dunkirk where it's nothing but twisties and fast, bendy forest roads......sounds like you didn't use them....still what do I know, I only go over there 3 or so times a year leading groups for a tour company!!

Sounds like you had a crack though....the Ring does get better the more you know it and the faster you go and yes, Sunday is the crappiest day of the week to be there, full of local chavs and tourists.

The roads ARE fantastic over there and the standard of driving....even around the Brussels Ring Road is leagues ahead of the mouth breathing mongs over here!

I love Spa...it's my favourite track. I'm hoping we can do a double trackday next year with Spa one day and the Nurburgring GP, (My second favourite track) the day after, fitting the Ring in and a tour of the local twisty roads......anyone interested?

That makes the posey wheelies fine machine control all the more impressive if he was riding with crossed fingers and toes.

In the Bible, God made it rain for 40 days and 40 nights. That's a pretty good summer for us in Wales. That's a hosepipe ban waiting to happen. I was eight before I realised you could take a kagoule off.(Rhod Gilbert)

I might be interested in Spa but not the Ring or the GP track.
I fear my bike may be too loud for Spa these days....it's got a round Yoshi race that needs a repack (it may even be empty!!!) and is a little noisy.
Also I've not done any track days since 97 when my rear spindle worked its way out of one side of the swingarm at cadwell and I'm a little nervous of doing it....oh and is taking a 16 year old bike (as it will be next year) to Spa for a track day a good idea?
But Spa is the best track in the world which is why it's tempting.

So long as it's in good condition it'll be okay, look at the age of the NC30s doing trackdays.

You don't have to do the Ring....you should think about the GP though, it's awesome...just enjoy the roads around there, the good company and the food and drink...it's more about the social side for me these days....butthe fantastic roads and the amazing tracks help!

I'm organising a trip with a few others off here for May time, just the Ring and surrounding roads for a long weekend if you're interested, PM me?
