If you need the lowered seat make sure its part of the deal as they are disproportionately expensive compared to the value of the bike..the versys seat is around £250 which I think will be the same price for the Er6

The N is the nicer looking of the 2 ( another vote for the Orange ones)

I think the green is awesome in the flesh, the black is a bit underwhelming and the orange, I haven't seen yet.

I chose the SV650n over the ER-6n simply because it tugged my heart strings better - it also somehow feels nicer to ride, and it looks much better in black. AFAICT they perform very similaly (though I make no great demands on a bike, and am pretty inexperienced) - so your thoughts and demands will be different I expect.

Check out Mordeth13 on youtube to find out what one sounds like with a nice pipe on it.

They feel flimsier and revvier than an SV. Very light and chuckable. Strangely unsatisfying to ride, though.

Although the stated seat height isn't tall, you would definitely need a lower seat (at least) for your short other half.

I much, much preferred the Pegaso Strada - better build quality, better handling, more low down oomph. The ER-6 does a reasonable job, the Pegaso made me giggle

Token bauble:

Bah humbug.

Sorry

Green is colour of choice, very drool worthy.

Ride is comparable to an SV. Comfy, with good position - wide bars.

Can't say any more really. Sorry.

No probs. Cheers.

I'm not interested in an SV as I already know it's too big ta.

Fantastic bikes.

Unsatisfying to ride? Not in my book.

Nippy, very light, and I much preferred it to its SV650 rival. The seat is low as standard, not sure about lowering it, no linkages, so would be a shorter spring from Hagon. I have the opposite problem and will be buying the higher seat.

Handling wise, I've had round Brands Hatch and ridden it to France and back in 2 days. Never missed a beat. Wind blast is well blasting, but what else did you expect, I am thinking about getting a screen, check out twinshack.co.uk for some funky bits.

Lovely engine, good spread of torque for a 650 twin, and still to me seems fast enough even though I've ridden alot faster bikes. Infact on the trip to France, everyone was rather surprised to find out it only produced 63ish hp!

It's a mountain bike with a engine.

What's gone wrong....

Nothing.

Only thing that is a bit irritating is some thin paint areas on the swingarm. Cured with clear nail varnish to stop it going any further. Same build quality as the majority in the 4k price range.

I fitted mine with a Arrow exhaust, sounds soddin loud, and they are still a rare bike, still only seen 1 other ER6-N, always gets questions when out and about.

Any questions, or if you want a in depth look at mine in your own time, let me know Adam.

Just got back from taking Lisa for a VERY short test ride around Worthing and Shoreham.

Anyone want to buy an NC30?

Only problem is, with her right foot on the floor she can't actually reach the side stand with her left.
I had to run back and put the stand up for her, and then run back and put it down when we got back.
Hopefully the lowered seat option will solve that, if not I should be able to knock up some sort of extension to make it possible.

I understand that problem. Weld a U-shape bracket onto the stand.

One of the girls I ride with now and then has one in black, with both lowered seat and short shock, the concensus is not to go for the shock, makes the bike very firm and uncomfortable for not much benefit in ride hieght.

She had the VFR400 before, finds the ER6 much nicer to ride, easier on the arse, back and shoulders, especially since she went back to the standard shock.

She's a bit of a FWB, so no real comment about build quality, when it gets wet it's cleaned very thoroughly and put in a nice dry garage.

Aye, something along those lines if necessary.
