PB Round The World Guinea Pig Blog

Its gone from bad to worse over the past 3 years or so.
Each time someone has 'climbed the ladder' and got into the higher echelons of it, they have emerged having found something distasteful.
They've then queried this & been lobbed out of the club as a dissenter or havent re-joined.

Cuppa time:
Trouble is, they seem to have reached an impasse this time, as one such chap fought long & hard - got his 50 names of paid up members to hold an EGM to discuss a vote of 'no-confidence' for one of the Management Team (committee to you & I mortals).
He had this as a signature list in June, was told to go away & come back with 'individual letters' - so he got emails sent to him by members.
Then this wasnt enough & he had to get them to send a special letter including their membership number on the bottom.
So, he got many to do the same again and sent it by special post.
Unfortunately, this EGM has not been allowed to go ahead (apparently) and this has made many of the members yet again kick off this week.
The MT have not made any comment on the board nor via the email Avanti that they can use, so many paid up members are getting rather tetchy at 'non-information'.
The MT have now closed the message board to non-members. All that non-members can see is the for sale and pre-2005 posts.......

HTH, as I couldnt really care anymore about it all - we left last year after winning the DD race championship (and I got thrown out too, along with others) & AK & I are now doing rather well racing elsewhere instead

Its only a club for chrissakes - and Im happy using ISC, Ducatisti & UKMOC as there aint no politics on any of them.

That about sums it up - I posted on there about 40 times in about 6 years. Too much political bullshit amongst some of the members. It did seem a little bit cliquey, although I still think the majority of people on there are decent sorts who appreciate all types of bikes.

On the plus side it did put me in touch with a few top chaps from round here (Swindon) who are real enthusiasts, one of which I was with in Army basic training 20 years ago!

wat did your membership 'buy' you?

10% discount with some retailers organised meets/ rideouts most weekend across a wide area of the country , organised trackdays cadwell, brands etc etc a regular (sometimes) club mag .
They started and run the desmodue race series as well.
Club forum a good knowledge base for mechanical and other information

So they all own Jap bikes too then?
