Take the tyres off

The newer ones have a slightly adjustable seat, dunno how far back they have that though. Room to cut at least an inch out of the padding too. After that I'd guess you're into new suspension linkage or summat. If there's a lack of answers here maybe try - Suzuki Owners Club DB's: Bandit and Naked Sports Lots of knowledge, just really dull.

The options at the mo are to either lower it with a lowering kit or turn it into a winter project and trike it funds, time & space allowing.

First off get the seat lowered. Ok it reduces some comfort as you loose padding but its the easiest mod to do first and doesnt affect the handling of the bike.

The cover is stapled on and then you need a sharp knife to carve out the foam, replace cover, stretch and staple back on. If you havent got a heavy duty stapler most local furniture upholstery places will do it for you. If you get stuck the guy behind our workshop does them.

Trike it - you know it makes sense (okay, possibly not financial but ...)!

Once I've got my hands on it and stripped it down (it's been stood 2 years) some bits go missing, bits turn up which don't match the origianl bits, 6 months later and bobs your whatsit.

I might just know where there's chain-drive Reliant axle, if you're interested?
