| ![]() This afternoon the NC30 was ridden for the first time in two years! She was a bit fluffy and reluctant to rev to begin with, but after a quick thrash to see a mate for a cuppa, she was back to full strength and feeling bloody gorgeous. On the way, I dropped into the MOT centre to get her all legal. The guy there recognises me now and has a little chat. Anyway, I was just about to leave and I can hear something chugging up outside. Step out and there's the most beautiful Brough I've ever seen (not that I've seen many Brough's you understand!). There's an oldish guy riding it and he tells me how it's from 1925, built in Nottingham, same as Lawrence of Arabia rode, had it for 22 years etc etc and I asked stupid questions about what all the levers do. One was the throttle I think that's the most rare and expensive machine I've ever had the pleasure of putting my backside on, what a top guy. (excuse squinty face, it was very sunny! no idea what MOT blokes are up to in the background, probably taking the piss )![]() Apparently a SS100. It was absolutely stunning in the flesh, it just looked solid and shiny and beautiful. Then I had to go shopping....usually dull and tedious, but today I was stroked by a not at all unattractive young lady She just walked up and stroked my tattooed and arm and said 'ooh, I like that'. I just mumbled a 'thanks' and carried on packing my bags . Think I might have pulled, result Shame I don't swing that way I suppose.

| If you do fancy giving it a go on something similar the VMCC run a try out day where you can try vintage bikes on track under suitable guidance. Their members bring along a variety of stuff of varying ages and it's definitely on my to do list for when I get my act together.

If you know when it's on, stick a post in the Rideouts bit and we'll try and get there for a look around.
