If you get on with the ST1100 I wouldn't rush towards a 1300 without an extended test run. They are lighter, faster, better brakes (which isn't saying much*) but certainly less "hewn from granite". And the panniers on the 13 are a sad example of how to shag up summat that ain't broke. Also rumours abound of an imminent ST1400 within a year or so, which will hit ST13 resale values...

*the non-ABS calipers are shared with both VFR750's and CBR400's from the same era, and on a CBR400 weighing 170kg they work a treat...
