Bear in mind that is 5'4" with a MALE back, so is more likely to fit the R35 OK. I tried the R25 on and it just looked silly - I couldn't even get the chest harness on it to tighten up enough, and that was with tits !

I love my R20 though, and a couple of days worth of clothes & wimmins toiletries for a jaunt a few weeks ago was no problem for it.

I also always carry adjustable ROK straps (loop non-hooked bungee system that releases with 2 buckles) so that if I want to have a break from carrying the back pack, I pop the Kriega on the pillion seat under the straps. It also means that I always have extra luggage capacity to hand.

It also fits my 14" laptop fine in the internal pocket.

Apparently, one of the 'quirks' of the R35's quadlock harness is that you don't need to have the shoulder straps tight. Once you've fastened the chest plate, you adjust the waist straps which pull the rucksack into the small of your back and it sort of grips around your waist and carries the weight on your chest and hips (which I hardly notice, to be honest). You then adjust the shoulder straps, more for comfort than load bearing, and it seems to work having them a little loose.

And before anyone says it, yes I am the sort of person who reads the instructions for everything thoroughly, before use.

Safe riding.

I badly need a new ruck, but the price of the stuff on this thread seems way over the top for a friggin haversack.

Does everyone think the price is good value? I agree with the saying,'you buy cheap, you buy twice'.....still I hesitate to fork out sixty quid for a bag.

Can anyone put up a picture of a US-20 with something to scale it?

Would I get a pair of trainers, trousers, lunch and a few work bits easy enough?

Would I get these in a US-10?

Cheers

Jon

...Doubt you'd get 'em in a US10, but you would in a US20. I bought a US20 a few weeks ago and have used it a few times for weekends away and I can get all of my clothes in it for a w/e ... jeans, jean boots (ie. bigger than trainers), sweatshirt, couple of t-shirts, clean shreddies etc. Pic is from their website.
Good bit of kit btw
With the above in it packs out pretty much like the pic.

One thing I found is that the back of the pack rests on the tailpiece behind the pillion perch and it started to wear the paint off (bike's an 06 blade) so I've protected the tail with some clear gaffer tape.

Nice one. I've seen that pic on the website and reckoned that would be the one to go for.

I bought a US10 this year and to be honest I was a little dissapointed, not at the quality, but the size, I know it's only 10 ltrs but it just seems to fill so easily(god knows what anyone would do with the US5) My friend bought a 20 and that seemed massive in comparison, just curious what bits you carried in yours? On a recent 4 day trip to Scotland I had mine as a tailpack as opposed to connecting to my R25 rucksack, 3 t shirts and a towel and it was full. Will look at getting a 20 for next year and maybe sit the 10 on top as featured on the Kriega website.

Still use the US10 most days - It's a great day bag/ManBag.
Usually have the following in the US10:
- Tyre puncture repair kit
- Garmin SatNav & bracket
- Book for reading of
- Visor cleaner & cloth
- Big bunch of house keys
- Phone
- two glasses cases (sun glasses & clear lense)
- Gore-Tex waterproof over trousers.

The US20 is huge by comparisson
