Well, it seems I can still bend into Sports bike shape for more than five minutes after all Yesterday I got back from a 600 mile round trip to Devon on it, with it's new Ventura luggage, which is fantastic. Today it's been in for it's first service at Cornerspeed and I can now unleash it's full potential! It felt lively even at running in pace, but now it's bloody quick and very keen to pick up the front wheel and shake the bars at you. I might be investing in a steering damper before too long. Now I'm more used to it, the handling still feels perfect, despite many owners going to great lengths to get it all changed because it's 'bouncy' I'm sure it could be tweaked a little to make it even better, but it's more than good enough for brisk road riding and after its first trackday next month, I'll see if it needs any set-up to deal with that, but after riding the standard demo bike on the track, I doubt I'll find much, if anything to change. It's fairly noisy as it is with the standard cans on and doesn't feel restricted or anything, so they can sta,y for now It's having some tarty carbon bits, just because some of the black plastic and exhaust guard looks a bit cheap and the carbon sits so well next to the beautiful red panels ![]() Problems....well *nervous giggle* it seems to be cutting out now and again when I stop for traffic lights/roundabouts etc. It's only usually once a rideout, if that, but I don't know why it does it, there's no pattern. Apparently the 1098's had the same problem, so it might just be a quick plug in the computer at the service centre and get it fixed. It might stop doing it before then, you can never tell with these bikes! The dealers put a charging lead on it for an optimate. Unfortunately they are bloody idiots and trapped the live wire in the battery closure and it's cut right through it! The service centre guy has put it right, despite it not being his doing in the first place. All in all, I love it. It's been comfortable enough to cover some decent distance in relative comfort...were it not for my knackered knees I would have been fairly ache free. It's just feels amazing, so responsive and quick. Plus it looks beautiful when you open the garage. I couldn't want for much more (other than a bit more comfort!). With it's luggage on; |
