Hey guys, I'm back. Finally made the move to Staffordshire, and now I actually finally have money to buy a bike! I'm spoilt for choice though. (Still have a limit though!)Everything seems to be going ok, job wise searching but no ultimate rush. ![]() Just hope everything out there with some old friends is still cool! Quick question though, Hornet 600 vs Kawasaki Z750... Thoughts? Have been looking into this for a few weeks now but can't decide.. Well, thanks for all support, and will be organising some sort of ride up here soon... ![]() Hug! Kitty xxxxxxx |

Try them both and see which pleases you best. I found the Hairnet dreadfully dull, the Kawasaki is more fun. Both bikes need looking after during the winter months.

Sorry, more info: preferably the 2005 model on both, but that may challenge my limit on expenditure, but similar is cool. I'm no expert and open to other options, but looking at buying next week, appreciate the help. I just went all naive when I saw the Z750, I love the style... If the insurance wasn't too high, I would go for a Suzuki SV 1000 K4. Although, my love for Kwak models go deep.. I just need a little advice. ![]() Cheers. |

Check with some owners,I watched a ZX9 dissolve in one winter which has made me a bit wary on Kawasakis since, maybe their better weatherproofed these days.

Ok test ride it is... Also I have heard you need to keep them really clean and look after them 100% or they do kinda disappear into an expensive hobby. Hi Skub |

Hornet's wake up at about 5k in the rev range and get a move on at about 9k. Good all- round, inoffensive bikes as they were mean't to be. You'd get to rev them both more and feel like you're riding them properly than a bigger bike iyswim. It's how you ride them really. IMHO Homda will have better build quality and are bombproof as I've found out. Keep an eye on the cam-chain. |

Kneejerk answer would be the Z just cos it's got more cc's, but agree that you need to ride them both to decide. Had a 2001 Hornet6 for a year & quite liked it. It was sedate up to about 8k then sprang to life & was great fun for hooning about on. Suspension was minimalist, tank range annoyingly short & brakes could of been a little sharper. I Didnt have any corrossion problems at all despite the bike living outdoors, being ridden virtually everyday and only getting a brief bi-monthly jetwash hose down. The only money I had to spend on it was fitting a fender defender as road dirt was being thrown uo into the radiator cooling fan and burning out the motor - after that had no probs at all | |

Yeah I think it is going to be a Go to the shop, sit on it and test ride it job. I don't mind but I get so scared of dropping these shiny new bikes! I am a little worried the ZR750 will be a bit tall, I have test rode a hornet and it fits but the ZR750 is so sexy. Ok I shouldn't go by looks, but I also want something a little different too. No dogs m'kay! ![]() Hey Choc ice x
