Hey you! I have been checking out the ZX7R... It's very naice! :P Oh and I was going to go for a zzr100, but the insurance people weren't too happy about that, 1,050 squids unhappy in fact! :O |

2005 Z750 is the original one. And 2005 Hornet is the updated one with dual reflector headlight, but not the latest one I think. Insurance permitting I'd go for the SV1000. Bit of a toss up between the other two - the Hornet's lighter, lower and better in town IMHO, Z750 has a bit more poke. I'd probably go for the Kawasaki. I'd try and get the Z750S with the half fairing to make longer journeys easier. |

I always thought that the Hornet was the best looking bike of its class when it came out, now it seems to look like everything else. If I had to choose it would be the Kawasaki everytime. |

Assuming you do want the Z750 (the only sensible choice, really ), how short are you? I'm 5'4", and I had to have mine lowered (2006 model), as my toes didn't reach the ground. A bit of the seat shaved off (doesn't make any difference to comfort as the original seat is a classic Kawa concrete block effort ) and the suspension linkage changed, the forks dropped by 1cm (which is the maximum you can, anyway) - job done. Can nearly get the balls of my feet on the ground now, which is plenty - I'm used to paying attention to where I stop, anyway! The 2006 model was the last pretty one, IMO. They are tear-inducingly fugly now. Quote:
. OTH, the stock half-faired version is (or was), for some bizarre reason, lower than the naked one. Mind you, the joined rider and pillion seat is yuk; looks-wise it's just not the same bike. One last question to ask yourself - could you really ride a bike that's called Hornet? A decent enough name for a scooter, I mean whatever possessed Honda to come up with that... ![]() ![]()

Hmm, I thought the ZR750 was the older air-cooled one - if so I'd say get the hornet... However, if you mean this one: ![]() Then I'll stick with my initial comments. |

Apologies if I have got them mixed up, but from what I have seen, so many people say the ZR750 and the Z750 are the same ![]() Maybe I shoud research more thorough. I love the CBF900, but as yet, not done a quote for insurance, and it's likely to be relatively high. The ZR750 was 560 squids ish. The above picture is the bike I want. Let me put a link to the bike I fell in love with. It is for sale on ebay... Sexy IMO |

If the 05 hornet is the same as the 04, for gods sake don't buy one. Incredibly bad finish, crap handling mainly because of the crap suspension, crap brakes although the engine is just about ok if a bit buzzy.

![]() But (IMHO of course) that nose fairing and light is ugly... make sure you find out why it's there - was it dropped?? (and in case it explains in the ad, I did not read it...)

he said he bought it from abroad for 600 euros, and preferred it. I like it but never thought it might be because it's covering dsomething up! Good thinking batman. It's a pearlescant orange apparantly, but I really liked it. As for the 2005/2005 hornet, is it really that bad? IMHO I would love to have a 2007 Hornet, but realistically, my funds don't quite stretch to the price on them. I just want a bike to get me back into riding, that is steady but with a little kick to the throttle when I want it and something that is going to aid me comfort wise to some extent on long journeys that looks sexy |
