I've seen a few threads on both this forum and others that recommend the Daytona Security Evos. Being rather attached to my feet, I'm thinking about getting a pair, and have a few questions:
Thanks. I'm still at the mulling over the options stage. There are a few other boots that I'm thinking about, which might be better all-round choices. It's just that the solid shell of the Daytonas is attractive. |

Look at the Sports Evo. http://www.daytona.de/english/boots_...sportsgtx.html ![]() Bit less armour in the inner boot, however... More comfort. Available in goretex. Quite a few of us on here have them and do many many miles in them. TBH tho, if you want a "sporty" boot, you won't get a boot that is particularly comfy to walk in. If you want walking comfort, go Altberg, but then you won't get sporty.

Bit warm in the height of summer. They're ok for walking about in, once you get used to them - but beware that they're not really designed for it - not much pattern on the sole and the sole isn't exactly built for it - mine have worn right through (but then I have worn them virtually every day! )Now in Altbergs (Clubman Roadsters) for every day, but will get some new outers for the Daytonas at some point.

Thanks. The above replies are exactly what I was looking for. ![]() It sounds like the Security Evos aren't what I'm looking for, but will take more of a look at the Sports Evo. I've seen the Altberg website, and they look pretty solid. Unfortunately I'm in the Netherlands right now, so neither Richmond nor Silvermans are convenient. I also like the look of the Vendramini boots, which seem to be pretty solid... |
