I popped to the factory 4 weeks ago as I live less than 30 miles from it. I usually take between 8 and 9 depending on the width and had my feet measured so am now sitting in a pair of off the shelf Warrior lites in size 8 1/2 Medium. I would have loved some Bandhogs or the Norway version but the wait was too long. Took a couple of weeks to easily break the boots in due to the thickness of the leather and now they are comfy, and warm but not hot.( Am currently in Dubai - 38 degrees or so and am still wearing them )Next time home think I will pop n get some of the Dessie wellies |

![]() ![]() I've got the Clubman Classics, which is a much taller boot than the standard one iirc. Mine are specced with three buckles intead of the middle section of velcro because A) I think it looks good, and B) Velcro tends to get weaker over time in my experience as it collects fluff and stuff. Whereas buckles fasten just as tight after years of abuse. I'm sure I remember being advised by them when buying my first pair to order a half size bigger than what you normally took as a shoe size. I normally take 10's so have always got 10 1/2's. And I can happily wear them with thin socks in the summer, or squeeze two thick pairs into them in the depths of Winter. | ||

I've had a pair of Hog Microlites for about 3 years. Not crash-tested them, but if I were to come off I'd rather do it in those than most other types of footwear. They are solid, comfortable and have a quality feel.

Alt-berg hogs for four years, still totally water proof, I use them for my hiking as well. Buy some.Good three season hiking boot and a top draw biking boot. Today ordered 240cm laces from Alt-berg as that is the only item which has worn out since new. I also see on their site, they are making foot-beds for their boots now.

Today is the day! Yep finally have my Hogg All Weather Microlite's, I got a call today on the way to the beach and where I ordered them was only 20 mins from there. Anyways they fit very nice thanks, I'm normally an 8 or 8.5, they measured me up as a 9 extra wide which worked! Off to Reims, France at the week so a chance to test them out ![]() Oh they took about 4.5 months |

Bought a pair of Clubman Roadsters from the workshop in Richmond in July. Had to wait 2 months for them to be made, but they are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. When I pulled them on and took the first few steps in the showroom I could'nt stop the smile that spread over my face. Literally - they are that good. I don't think I will ever use another manufacturer. |

well having called in to be measured, waiting 6 months whilst they had my moolah I was less than impressed with A) the fact that having been told I take an 8.5 not a 9 (which I normally buy) the toe box on my left foot is too small and rubs, but of course I had to break them in as 'they will stretch a little' so cant return them. B) having taken my money they denied I had ever paid for my boots and asked me to pay again 6 months later when they had bothered to make them. their attitude was contemptous in the whole debacle, they didnt apologise even when I forwarded them my original receipt, as I paid cash I would have been screwed If I had lost this C) when I called in to be measured I was told in no uncertain terms how lucky I was to get measured because the guy in the shop was going to stop taking measurements in 15 minutes, which I thought was a bit of a cheek as I live miles away in Bristol, was there 15 mins before they stopped taking measurements, and was paying £140 or so for a pair of boots so figured some common courtesy would be included in the price. I've only ever heard good things about altberg, was delighted and proud to buy a good british product and the quality of manufacture is top notch. (I have Bandog all weathers BTW) I love the fact they will repair/rebuild them but shudder to think how long they would take about it! I wont pay more than a deposit on the next set or will buy off the shelf from silvermans sizing seems normal to me. |
