Last ever 250cc race, what a corker !

Won't mention the result in here, but I was on the edge of my seat, fantastic way to finish the 250cc era.

Yep, cracker as usual. I was cobbing it for Ayoma in case the Aprilla mafia ganged up on him - did look a bit that way at times

I've seen better races dicing wise but it was certainly a dramatic one.

Fair play to Aoyama for handling his moment (looked like a bit of a brain fart or unsighted approaching the bend) and had to feel sorry for Simoncelli who wasn't going to win the title but threw away his chances of being the last ever 250cc winner.

Seemed to be quite a few random crashes with wheels just washing out, sort of thing you might expect on a dusty track but was it?

Ah well, end of an era and nice to have a dramatic race to remember it by, let's see how next year's Supersport GP2 compares.

Looked very much like a brake test from Bautista who'd already had one run in with Aoyama. Could just as easily have been an odd late line into that left though (he did it a couple of times later), he wasn't taking any prisoners for sure!

Aoyama looked like he wanted the win, good for him but a rather risky strategy. Great race.

Brake testing isn't common in bike racing, partly because you don't know who's where behind you and partly because it's risky for both parties. I'd go with the odd line - there were a few people struggling with outbraking themselves, I'm inclined to think grip was a bit patchy out there.

It does highlight the reasons why outbraking moves are generally up the inside though

Aoyama is a worthy champion. He may have had to settle for a lower place to clinch the title but as you say he wanted to win. Top man, will enjoy seeing how he does next year

Now about this 250 thing. Does anyone think the diesels be able to live up to this...

The racing will probably be just as good, but pukka GP strokers will always be that bit more special for me.

I always used to get a "here we fuckin go again " ribbing from all my mates when the GP250's used to be on the warm up laps for club and MRO races when i was working trackside and i started ranting about proper racing bikes,the smell of Castrol R and not modified 600's
