Default 06 R1 plumbing

I've got an 06 R1 engine that I'm putting in my car at the mo.

Now that the cradle's made and the engine is in situ I'm thinking about the plumbing. So these are the first of many many questions....

1) I've identified the thermostat housing which is still connected to the engine. Which way does the water flow around the circuit is it trying to go INTO the engine through the thermostat, or should it be coming OUT of the engine through the thermostat?

2) Should the hot water that comes out of the engine go into the top or the bottom of the radiator?

Water out of the engine goes in to the top of a radiator, so that the water in to the engine is always available at the bottom (if your coolant is not up tot he top of the rad, you would want some cooling to still occur) Also heat rises, so you would want the "coolest" water going back in to the engine
As for direction, I would guess the water goes out through the thermostat? But I am not sure about that.
Good luck
