I'm far more worried about getting a camera. I *might* rent one!

congrats, I think they've taken a couple of Beckers shots too. One in Prague and one in Brussels for their city guides.

I had a wee play around, mainly to get some settings right wrt display and get a feel for the camera but generally indoor phot doesn't itnerest me and even with new toy I found it hard to be creative!

Supposed to be high cloud tomorrow morning though, wonder how late I can get away with being to work

Does make a lovely shutter speed clunk compared to the 400D

Yes they are very good cameras. I think I will get a D300 soon, I blagged one for a boat show I covered last year & was very impressed - all the picture quality I really need & nice rubber seals

    finally it arrived

There is a lot to learn on the new features but the noise at iso3200, I'd seen examples but finally got to do a test. Tungsten light, hand held and I'd say noise comparible to 800 on my mk1. You can ditch fast lenses for low light now, the noise performance is fantastic.

To sweeten it all, the bag supplied by warehouse express is superb, that plust the shipped sd card are probably worth a few bob as it is

definitely not feeling guilty about getting it now

My 8 year old nephew is one of only ten finalists in an Aberdeen University Archaeology photo competition for the under 16s! His picture, entitled 'The owl takes centre stage among the nine stanes'* is shown on this page...

Please take a look, and if you agree cast a vote for it!

    Many thanks guys

I bought a 10.5 fisheye for a boat show that I was helping out at this year. I'm pleased with the results first time out, any constructive criticism appreciated

Hmmm- I'm a bit slow of the mark it seems. Only just spotted this

There is a social group forums section but no photographic section - maybe an admin or the group starter can create one. I hope they do because I got my 400D today (Woot BTW ) and while I have used film SLRs for ages and am computer literate, I may have a question or two

I'm a little confused - is there a forum for photographers where we can chat about stuff or is it just this message board thingy?

Absolutely nothing wrong with not having 'good kit' I've created this social group for the all round pursuit of capturing fantastic photographs. Be it on a Canon 1D or a Sony Ericsson K750

I feel like a bit of an imposter as i dont have good 'kit' but i like taking photos. Ive been known to stop the car and snap away if i see something good.

Currently I have a Canon T70 and a Canon T90 with a 28mm, 50mm, a 35-70, a 70-200 and cheap 400mm plus macro converters etc. I'm about to buy a 400D (Canon have a £45 cashback scheme until 30/06/08 ) with a couple of lenses and it makes sense to get an FD lens converter so I can use my existing lenses with it too.

    Come on boys and girls.
Ok, an easy one. What equipment do you have?
    I currently have a Canon 400D EOS, Canon 18-55mm EF-S, Tamron 70-300mm, and a Sigma Wide Angle 17-35 (I think) that I have borrowed off a friend.
I am pleased as punch with the 400D, but I'd like a larger Aperture on the 2 lens I have, the Sigma has a big Aperture but it's not as wide as I'd like. The Canon 10-22mm is alot better.

What's your favourite photo you've taken then?
I'll post up one of mine when I get on to PC.

So not to leave you in despair, here is a shot taken by Char3105 from Inspiring Photography Forums
