Default Embarrassed to ask this question...Hot tub: Anybody got one?

We are gonna 'do' the garden completely as it's a bloody mess and the good Mrs. G. wants a hot tub. Now if it was up to me, I would avoid it like the plague, if only because I think it'll be a five minute wonder and then sit there, unused and costing money. However.....

Any tips on which make to go for? Any pitfalls? Issues on maintenance?

Yup!

It would be best all round in the current economic state of the country if bankers didn't publically boast about their luxury items.

We've been here....move along.

And besides. I'll employ somebody to clear the leaves out, thus spreading my fabulous wealth to the commoners.

serious answer, hot tubs are awesome... ive had access to one for extended periods of time (4/5 months etc) and used it on a bi/tri weekly basis...

extremely relaxing, fun, and its almost guaranteed (if you can abide the maintenance and cleaning) to be used a lot...

go for it

Jones the Steam has one and it's not that cheap to heat.

I've always thought they were a little bit car keys in the middle / considerably richer than yaaw. Probably only as I'm jealous of both demographs.

Ahhh whats not to like about a hot tub - sitting there festering in you, your wifes and your friends filth, all bubbling away around you.

Exactly that.
Why spend money on anti-ageing creme when you can take a dip in a friend's hot tub and receive a portion of the entire neighbourhood's diversity of lukewarm jizm.

Apparently hot tubs are one of the best ways of getting yourself a nasty lung infection - avoid like the plague (or nasty lung infections).

I have a kid who is the source of most major infections known to mankind. If I can live with the Gremlinette, I can survive anything.
