Denby to test law on super-truck - News - Logistics Manager

Ok so they'll never work on most A roads let alone B roads, but surely we could have distibution centres set up along the M-Ways where they are broken down into more normal size wagons before hitting the usual delivery routes

Would work much like a rail freight terminal or canal freight terminal should work, well in my iccle little mind anyway

Great idea, they could run at night up and down the motorways then the trucks would only need to do the local bit the next day.

Oh, hold on, that sounds like a good idea. Never mind, move along, nothing to see here.

They don't even allow them in the USA AFAIK, so why the hell would we want them here?

As much stuff as possible, should be encouraged to go by rail in this tiny country.

Road trains are suited to the Oz terrain, due to vast distances between population centres, empty roads through the bush, and a lack of rail.

They are an awesome sight though. In many places, you can see one coming from miles away.

We've got them where I work, but they're not cost effective for short journeys as they take too much time to load and unload, we've also got this really huge kind of truck that has loads of trailers, each trailer is 60ft long, it has to use a special metal road to get around, goes all over the country though.

It'll be fine.
The gubermint is making M-ways 4 laners by opening up the hard shoulders so you'll still have 2 free lanes as you do now.

Probably

But there would only be one lorry pulling the train, so one trailer could be cut down and pulled by that, how would the other trailers transport themselves...?
