Female sexual abusers of children
Lots of 'shock, horror' stories about at the moment about the number of children calling Childline to report being sexually abused by females.
Apparently there has been a big increase in these reports in the last 5 years or so, and naturally many people are shocked because it contravenes the image of the usual protective, caring nature of the female of the species - who has, in fact, once again proved that she can be deadlier than the male!
I'm not so sure that the reported increase actually means that there are more women paedos out there than ever before - I think now, it's the case that people (children especially) are more aware and able to report such incidents, combined with modern technology being deployed to catch the guilty parties (viz. the woman from the nursery in Plymouth).
Speaking of whom, I was not too surprised that it was a nursery worker like her who was discovered - after all, what better place to get a job for access to potential victims?
It's not right, it's disturbing and it shouldn't happen - whether a male or female perpetrator - but I for one am not at all surprised by these revelations about female involvement. Just very, very sad about it.

Re: Female sexual abusers of children
Sexual abuse is very wrong. Somehow, sexual abuse by a woman, especially if she is a mother herself, seems unexplainable and somehow worse.
I mean, I know it's not worse than by a man, but maybe because it is seen that a woman (especially a mother) is generally seen to be more "safe" than a man, and to be a protector of children, it seems worse when they do it.
As for the nursery woman in Plymouth, I wish for her to be covered in a thousand papercuts, then bathed in lemon juice, before being left in a sealed, darkened room, with a limited supply of oxygen and a constant stream of fire ants.

I wonder what they actually do to the kids?
I guess if you're that far into the arena of the unwell then the lack of a penis isn't one way or the other.

Are you suggesting that penetration is required to abuse a child?

I really have no idea. Not sure if I want to know either.

Fair enough, however I'm always concerned that in the case of female abusers and underage boys there is an element of "get in there lad" and the abused child is told he was lucky...

I'm waiting for the standard response to this
- This is terrible, it must never happen again
- Something must be done.
- Something must be done, done right now.
- Something must be done, done right now, we demand it, it must never happen again.
<new rules get put into place>
- The new rules are totally wrong, they make us all suffer.

I think that's a given when it comes to the "outrage".
