Most of the aircraft that visit from the Netherlands and Germany fly over my house on the way there and back anyway, on Sunday we had a nice little display from the Battle of Britain flight Spitfire and Hurricane, it's quite nice living next to one of the most important former airfields in Britain.

Last year we stood in the field on the end of the runway.
Unfortunately, some twats decided that because the gate at the edge of the field was open it would be a good idea to actually go ONTO the airfield - cue 1 VERY irate safety officer calling the cops (who'd cruised down the little lane at about lunchtime without issue), turning up and throwing EVERYONE out of the fields. Whilst I'm sure the fields WAS trespassing - the lane itself (afai - can tell) is a public lane (it's marked on the maps) (although there was a sign at the ends of the lane saying it was private - difficult to tell really).
Fantastic viewing area.
This year I wouldn't be surprised if the lane ends were roped off.
I did ponder trying to get written permission from the farmer - but I'd give good money he's loathe to do it.

Depends which lane your on about, i used to park at the end of the road where the houses end, where there is usually a copper stopping traffic going any further, walk over the bridge over the M11, jump the fence into the field and walk to the next field, your then on the opposite side on the runway to the crowd line and taking pics with the sun behind you instead of paying to go in and taking pics into the sun. Or many people just watch from that lane.
Also alot of the time the aircraft are screaming above your head, which is fun until one crashes.
Oh and its cheaper and no queing
(Dont tell everyone or it will be crowded)

Nah - we were at the other end last year (opposite end to the M11), in the field that's on the edge of the airfield boundary.
