Anyone got any experience of business angels?

I was wondering if any of you may have used one to invest in a startup business, or even if any of you are one.

I'm wondering what are the average investments that they make, and what sort of return are they generally looking for?

Just curious like. In case "a friend" might be starting a new business on Tuesday next week which could do with a cashflow boost and is going to be making too low a margin for a bank loan at standard rates or factoring agreement to be financially viable.
