They've been brilliant so far. Within an hour of reporting it, the van was being dusted for prints, then we got the crime number after a chat with them later in the afternoon. Couldn't wish for a more helpful bunch really

And they'd have his latest publicity photo, address, known hangouts, accomplices,if any, favourite pub and sandwich preference as well. Real life cops really are shit aren't they? I like the way CSI can narrow things down and never come up with any of the 4862 other people that have left their fingerprints at the crime scene, only the perpetrator. Bloody marvelous what imaginary science can do.

What I want to know is,

Why don't they just keep hold of the crims when they photograph them rather than let them out again to be hunted down when they do something else naughty?

Good work Grib's cops, let's hope you get your stuff back.

Actually, any Police types will be able to answer this:-

Isn't there a ruling about seizure of goods to the value of X, when proof of guilt is undeniable? I thought there was talk of giving the Police the power to take goods from the crims homes to the value of the goods stolen, etc. I may be wrong, but it would be interesting to find out for certain.

They only got one good print off it, so we figured it would have to be mine or CC's, but it turned out the crim was dumb enough to touch it with no gloves on

You'd think the whole thing would be covered in prints, but most of them were just blurry smudges...I was surprised.
