Got my new bike on Weds night - love it to bits for rideability

So light to handle & tips in easily, its a real 'compliment' to my existing bike. Cant wait to finish off running her in so I can get more use of the rev range
Yep - its another Ducati!...... and its red.....

If its anything like some of the red cars I've owned, leave it out in the sun and it'll go orange on its own (or maybe pink!)

Danny, there is NO way this is going orange - tho AK wants it for Streetfighter or minitwits
Its the M696 - the 3rd generation of Monsters.
Puts out 80 at the crank, so prob about 72 at the rear (tho will need to dyno).

I think its going to be one of those bikes - a 'love it or hate it' even among Ducati owners

I didnt really tell anyone Lily
I put my name on the list back in December (ok, I started Snells list then ) and it was all dependant on test ride - which went well.

I've never been a fan of my previous bikes from front or rear, and pretty much the same with this one (aka Little miss Bug) but she did what they said on the tin, when asked to on the road

By all accounts a totally brilliant bike. Most of the folk that have been writing about it in the US mags have been accused of being on Ducatis payroll. The local dealer had four in the showroom Monday, took a mate of mine to see them on Thursday and they were all gone. Along with the S2Rs, and 848s. Thay had a Sport 1000 and a 1098 left to see and the 1098 had a sold tag on it. They have had several shipments in since but I haven't seen the bikes make it to the showroom yet. Sold. I want an S2R, but I would like to see if the styling has been ruined like the 696 has.
I may have to get an '07 leftover. But it would have to be located at some other place as they don't wait long around here. It is going to be raining Ducatis this year.

Am changing cans asap when the termis come in - unless mark (MHP can do me some).
Front brake line needs altering - its currently split in the 'cheap' way over the front mudguard.
Otherwise its not too bad - it feels like a cross between our 2 x M800 race bikes - and the hypermotard to ride

its grown on me Roddy - as I hated the 'dark' that was in the shop as a demo model back in march

Will be at Box for a big Ducati meet tomorrow from 10.30 for an hour or so - you likely to pop along?

Unlikely, rugby club dinner dance tonight, I've got a mega hangover booked for tomorrow

Off to France with McS on Weds night, I'm catching the 2300 ferry from pompey so I may go via A339/A32 and pop into Alton bus station, you about then?
