Might be a precedent they can use in the Breivik case ?

Went to Silverstone today for the GP circuit... First real time i've been there as the only other time was rained off...

Went to Silverstone today for the GP circuit... First real time i've been there as the only other time was rained off due to being on slicks.

The R1 was given a double bubble screen last night for the expected wind-blast at a VERY fast circuit, only today would i find out it was a moment of genius and it REALLY worked well.

GiantPygmy was my riding buddy and van buddy today, him in Novice, me in Inters.

Arrived and i wasn't put in Inters, i was put in fast !!!! oh shit... hey ho.. lets go out and see...

Down the hanger straight on the 2nd sighting lap i had 153mph on the clocks and was losing ground dramatically to the bike around me.... who in the next 4 corners just buggered off and i was left in no doubt i was WAY out of my league... gone are the days of FAST and Weeksy ever even being remotely related :)

So after a drop to inters.. i felt much better.. but still no concept at ALL of where Silverstone went... left, right.. errrrrm no idea !!! For those who don't know, the GP layout is the longest on the MotoGP calander. At almost 4.5 miles in length and it must be 20 corners, it's a LONG lap. Found myself throughout the day getting my head around it slowly, slowly slowly. On there you hit in excess of 140mph 3 times per lap, over 150 once per lap... it's just a FAST place. But it's WEIRD... the track is just SO damn wide, you can sometimes lose track of where you are and where you need to be. In some ways, at my level, half the Apex's barely exist as you're about 25m from them as your turn in point is over the other side, it's leading onto a fast sweeper, so the apex simply doesn't exist.
It's great though in the way if gives you the oppertunity to experiment with lines and where you wanna be on the track.

Some of the corners are fast 100mph+ sweepers... scary being cranked over on a bike i've never ridden before in anger !!!!

The brakes on the R1 are just superb... really firm, sharp and responsive.

Handling was also super, everywhere i wanted the bike to go, it went there. Awsome. It was a touch flighty on the Hanger straight, but as it's a right/left flick and 100mph going up to over 150mph hard on the throttle you can forgive the bike getting a little loose.

As for me... jesus... i've TOTALLY lost any abilty/speed i ever had on a bike.... the R1 was compensating for my lack of abilty by being a bloody missle out of corners and rocketing down the straight bits. My cornering, braking and general riding was just weak... i was in some ways disappointed in myself.. but also having WAY too much fun to care.

The bike performed faultlessly, doing back to back sessions all day with riders in Inters and Novice..

FWIW... i STILL love the R1 :)

I managed to find a copy of the 'video nasty' Necromantic the other week ... I'd forgotten how shit it was. There must be some good horrors out there somewhere?

So, has anyone got any recommendations?
