Don't you hate it when you spend £250,000 on a Brough SS100 and someone says "They're still making them in India, you know?"

Not really.

I don't have that kind of money and if I did I wouldn't buy a Brough.

Regarding the Enfield - let's be right the stuff that they are turning out in India is even worse than the stuff that came out of Redditch!

When it comes down to it 35 thousand is not absolutely enormous when it comes to money for toys. That would disappear fairly rapidly into wine, a modest classic car or boat, a small woodland over here or a barn in France, and no one would be wiser.

Some people have an itch that they feel needs scratching, if you get 2 of those in the same room at an auction (Mr Chris Evans) you can suddenly get a 'market value' for a particular bike that is massively optimistic.

There is no bike that I would pay 35 thousand for (assuming I had the money to play with). I'd rather have a couple of quirky pre-war critters and a couple of oily rag characterful runarounds from the 50's and a nice warm shed to house them for that amount of money.

A friend lent me this for the 2009 Classic Junior Manx races. Coincidentally, in keeping with the thread of this topic I had to insure it for £35,000 whilst it was in my possession. Glad I didn't crash it. It was amazing to ride, although I only did three practice laps on it as I had to sort out my 500 Velo for the senior race.

Want to hear how it sounded - crank up the volume and move the slider to 4.25 then enjoy!

Sorry about the wind noise on the clip it was a very gusty day.
An aquaintance of mine used to own a KTT, in used and scruffy condition, which he rode around the Walsall area in the late '60's, early '70's. It had a tall first gear but I still remember it being quick once into it's stride. He sold it for quite a large sum in the early '80s after it had lain unused for 15 years.
