I've bought an 1981 R80rt, ex plod apparantly. its an already started project from another forum. it came with a Norton Tank and a Ducati style tail end.. which may or may not get used.

Prior to losing the bodywork the engine did run (allegedly) but I'd like to strip it all and have a rebuild anyway..

I'm planning on making it a Cafe Racer.. I'll keep you posted.

why has the sodding pic gone small? Bahh
We demand a bigger picture. How far in are you going to go on the engine? Are you going to touch the gearbox [might be worth replacing the notorious spring ]

Host it on photobucket or email it to me at devil005athotmail.co.uk and I will host it for you. I have a valve grinding stick and paste if you are going to do the valves and a compression tester if you want to check the engine prior to dismantling it. Pm me if you want to borrow them.

Excellent! I'm also looking forward to seeing this one take shape.

Here are a couple more examples to pin on your garage wall

My gearbox went bang last week so if you ever get to go inside yours this is what you will find. Seems two of my bearings lunched themselves. Decided to go all the way with it and do new rings exhaust valves SS pusrod tubes etc so she is off the road for a month or so.
