Staring redundancy in the face...

It's not always a terrible thing, FA. I was made redundant last year, and in some ways it was a great thing. Forced me to re-examine my whole work / life balance thingummy, for one... Of course the payout helped.

Hope it works out the way you want it to.

Been through it before some years ago, but I was single then...bit scarier this time round trying to figure out exactly what employer I'm going to look attractive too when I give the few hours I can work.

Sadly this is just the start of a very bad week...things have just increased on the down side of things...why does it always happen at the same time? *sigh*

Well, it glanced at me...we had a staring competition...and it would appear I won

Been moved to a different sector within the company (one that refused us a few months ago as it happens) and look to be safe

Turns out I've not been made safe after all...both my boss and I got informed yesterday we were still at risk - find out by the end of next week whether we are finally safe or whether we are to be re-deployed or have to take the pay-off...

Just when I thought it was all over...the news sucks

So two-fifths of the way through the week and still not been called into a meeting...three days left to try and survive...never have I been so nervous about my particular boss speaking to me (we get on very well).

If I make it through the week it should mean that I'm safe and a letter saying as much will be waiting for me (those not safe are being called to one-on-ones this week).

Ok, so I don't have the letter yet, but I have been told I have been saved...but at a cost
