Or here. It's the same site but there's another more powerful tool (Mac-only) that gives you more control.. may have some other advantages too, can't remember

How do you guys install software once jailbroken?
From the last threads i gather i do my phone differently. Ive jailbroken my phone the same way as above. But i followed other guides from another site.
Presuming you find an IPA file online and have downloaded it how do you get it working on the phone. Do you sync your applications with itunes?
Im curious if your way may be better.

I've no knowledge of this IPA thing...
All my syncing and legal apps are done as normal through iTunes, all my jailbroken software is just installed as normal through Cydia or Installer. Not sure what else there is or why you'd need to do anything different tbh.

Re: Jailbreaking your iPhone 3G
Ah I see. I dont really use Cydia or Installer. I find there isnt very much on them. I should probably add more sources.
ipa files are what i get when I download apps from the net. (i.e rolando.ipa)
To install them I open them up with itunes. They then sync with the phone when I next connect. I thought you installed app by transferring them to your phone using FTP software.
Anyway ignore the above then. Heres how to get Installous. Its like Cydia and Installer only better imo.
Open CYDIA, click MANAGE, then SOURCES, click EDIT, ADD, and enter this into the URL box:
http://cydia.hackulo.us
Next hit SEARCH and type INSTALLOUS. Download the app and it should save to the homescreen. Open the app and you will notice that it looks similar to Safari and automatically directs you to the Appulous website. You will be able to browse apps as you would on your home computer only instead of downloading them to your PC it will give you the option to install, just as you would if you were browsing for apps on the App Store

I don't really see the need tbh. Almost all the apps I have are through iTunes and then there's a couple of jailbroken ones I want through Cydia and that's it really. I haven't needed to install anything by FTP, no... just copy across some ringtones and the like.
What is there through Installous that's worth getting?

I use Itunes to make and sync ringtones as well.
Nearly everything in the app store is available in Installous. If you google 'appulous' and click the 1st link you will see the site where the apps come from.

Ah I see.. cracked versions of the paid-for app store stuff?
